Message of the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE) to Cuba’s Unión de Jóvenes Comunistas regarding the death of Fidel

The Communist Youth of Greece (KNE), the youth-wing of the KKE, send the following message to the Unión de Jóvenes Comunistas of Cuba on the occassion of Comandante Fidel Castro’s death:

“Comrades of the Union of Communist Youth of Cuba,

We extend the sincere condolences of the members and friends of the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE) for the death of Fidel Castro.

With deep sorrow we farewell the great communist leader, the Cuban revolutionary, Fidel Castro, who became for decades a source of inspiration for the struggles of the youth in all over the world, including of course Greece. Whole generations of fighters were educated with his example. Especially in the very difficult conditions for the international revolutionary movement which were formed after the counter-revolutionary overthrows of 1989-1991, the members and friends of KNE continued taking courage from the achievements of the Cuban Revolution, from the decisive stance of the Cuban people and Fidel against imperialist aggressiveness.

We continue the struggle that comrade Fidel gave for the abolition of the exploitation of man by man, for Socialism-Communism. The big moments such as the new year’s day of 1959 with the peoples-revolutionary army entering triumphantly in Havana, or like April 1961 with the the Cuban people repelling the invasion of the CIA’s mercenaries in Plaza Giron, accompany us in the struggle, thus being source of inspiration for us. They show that the system of capitalist exploitation is neither undefeated nor eternal.

Fidel lives in the modern struggles of the people and the youth against capitalist barbarity, for the ultimate victory of Socialism-Communism”.
