ÚLTIMA HORA:

Why are more Boricuas out than in Borikén?

Dr. Nelson Rochet Santoro gave a conference on the United States Coast Wide Shipping Act at the Caribbean University, Carolina Campus on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 from 6 to 8pm. Click on the following link to watch our video:

We learned that this law was imposed on us as soon as the United States (US) government made Puerto Rico its colony on April 13, 1898.

This law makes everything shipped to and from Puerto Rico very expensive by forcing us to use the US Merchant Marine, which is the most expensive one in the world.

Dr. Rochet explained that this organization comes from the slave master-slave relationship dating to the Dred Scott vs. Sanford Case. The US Court ruled that a slave had no right that a slave master had to respect. This jurisprudence is found in the Treaty of Paris where it states that Congress shall have plenary powers over Puerto Rico.

Dr. Rochet concluded the Puerto Rico will continue to be administered solely for US interests until we decolonize ourselves.

Will we massively protest in front of the United Nations on Monday, June 19 to demand that the US government comply with 35 United Nations resolutions asking it to immediately give Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans, or will we continue to permit Boricuas to massively leave Borikén?
