Talking around Puerto Rico’s crisis

The sad part for Puerto Ricans is that this crisis will never end with the discourse that we hear in the United States’ (US) press.

The Puerto Rico administrator for the United States said that he is asking for equal treatment in disaster relief for Puerto Ricans. That statement in itself shows a lot of ignorance on the part of Ricardo Rossello.

The US government has never considered Puerto Ricans as equals. The US government classified Puerto Ricans in 1898 as an inferior race. This is why the US government legislated for a special condition to place Puerto Rico in, so that it could discriminate against us.

Puerto Rico is an unincorporated territory of the United States. This is a nice way to say that Puerto Rico is a colony of the United States. Once you understand that, you will be able to also understand why President Trump threw paper towels at Puerto Ricans, and why after two months more than half the population still has no electricity.

In all of the press coverage about the crisis in Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria, who has mentioned that Puerto Rico is a colony of the United States since 1898?

Who has mentioned that the United Nations (UN) declared colonialism a crime against humanity in 1960?

Who has mentioned that the UN has asked the US government in 36 resolutions to immediately give Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans?

Who has mentioned that the US government has refused to do so, and that that refusal makes the US a terrorist state?

Why aren’t the Puerto Ricans saying that? They have been brainwashed in 120 years to be oblivious to their own real history. Click here to learn some of it from Puerto Rican historian Nelson Rochet Santoro:

Join our permanent protests to force the US government to comply with the UN resolutions, because those who throw paper towels instead of providing real emergency relief don’t believe in LIBERTY AND IN JUSTICE FOR ALL!
