How many for a revolution?

The American Revolution was fought with one third of the colonists of the 13 English colonies. How many patriots do we have in Puerto Rico?

By José M. López Sierra – Puerto Rico

I heard about a survey that said that 58% of Puerto Ricans on their island favored the celebration of the 101 anniversary of the imposition of United States citizenship on us on March 2, 1917. That means that 42% of us did not. That would be 9% more than the 33% for the American Revolution.

After 120 years of trying to divert our loyalty to Borikén towards the United States government, it is a miracle that 42% of Puerto Rican patriots have resisted.

Puerto Ricans have always been willing to do whatever it takes to get our independence. The problem has been that too many of our leaders have decided in favor of making reforms to the colony instead of fighting for our independence.

That story is clearly explained by Juan Antonio Corretjer in his book, “The struggle for Puerto Rico independence” published in 1949. This book is required reading for everyone who favors Puerto Rico independence

The Boricua critical mass must unite to protest permanently to force the United States government to comply with the United Nations’ Charter and its 36 resolutions asking it to immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans.

Let’s resist together, because those who have tried to make us disappear as a nation don’t believe in LIBERTY AND IN JUSTICE FOR ALL!
